Biografia

Sofia Mastrokoukou è Ricercatrice a Tempo Determinato in Psicologia dello Sviluppo e dell’Educazione (M-PSI/04) presso l’Università Mercatorum e ha conseguito l’Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale a Professore di seconda fascia per il settore concorsuale 11/E2. Ha ottenuto il Dottorato di ricerca presso l’Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca e ha svolto attività di ricerca e insegnamento in diversi contesti accademici internazionali, tra cui Grecia, Italia, Kenya, Pakistan e Brasile. È membro di società scientifiche internazionali, tra cui l’American Psychological Association (APA) e l’International Society for the Study of Behavioural Development (ISSBD).

La sua attività scientifica si colloca nell’ambito della Psicologia dello Sviluppo e dell’Educazione, con un focus sui processi di adattamento nei contesti scolastici e universitari, sulla qualità delle relazioni insegnante–studente e sulla promozione del benessere psicologico lungo l’arco di vita. Le sue ricerche approfondiscono in particolare le competenze socio-emotive degli insegnanti, l’inclusione degli studenti con disabilità e bisogni educativi speciali, i fattori di rischio e protezione nello sviluppo adolescenziale, nonché le dinamiche del bullismo e del cyberbullismo. Un’ulteriore linea di indagine riguarda l’impatto delle tecnologie digitali e dei social media sulla salute mentale e sull’adattamento psicosociale di bambini, adolescenti e giovani adulti.

È autrice di numerose pubblicazioni su riviste internazionali indicizzate e svolge attività editoriale come Associate Editor e Guest Editor per riviste scientifiche di area psicologica ed educativa. Ha partecipato a progetti di ricerca nazionali ed europei finanziati nell’ambito del programma Erasmus+ e ha ricoperto incarichi di visiting professor all’estero. L’attività didattica comprende corsi di Psicologia dello Sviluppo, Psicologia dell’Educazione e interventi psico-educativi per la disabilità, con un costante impegno nella supervisione di tesi e nella formazione di futuri professionisti dell’educazione e del servizio sociale.

Le principali aree di ricerca in ambito accademico riguardano la Psicologia dello Sviluppo e dell’Educazione, con particolare attenzione ai processi di adattamento scolastico e universitario, alla qualità delle relazioni insegnante–studente, alla promozione del benessere psicologico e delle competenze socio-emotive, nonché ai temi dell’inclusione, della disabilità e dei bisogni educativi speciali. Ulteriori linee di ricerca approfondiscono le dinamiche del bullismo e del cyberbullismo, l’impatto delle tecnologie digitali e dei social media sullo sviluppo e la salute mentale, e i fattori di rischio e protezione nei contesti educativi.
